FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why should I hire a manager to make
investment decisions for me?
For some people the answer is; "You
shouldn't" These people have the necessary education, psychological
discipline, and spare time available to perform the task of managing
their own portfolio. Especially in today's financial arena, the tools
available to the average individual investor are more than adequate to
execute a well though-out investment strategy which will produce
attractive returns without excessive risk.
Sadly, our society does
not, at least not yet, provide the life-long stream of information
necessary for its people to develop these skills and acquire the
necessary knowledge. The pitfalls, scams, and complexity of the
investment world seem to advance at a much greater rate than the
education level of the general population, and the consequences of
making a mistake are serious.
Life in today's world demands much more
of our attention and energy than ever before. The workplace frequently
takes most of the energy we have from day to day and what's left over
is consumed by our attention to family, community, and leisure
activities. This leaves little time for most people to devote to the
education and discipline necessary to manage an investment portfolio.
Many of us, as well, are simply not inclined to enjoy the
understanding of these rather complex concepts, leading to a mediocre
or bad result of trying to sandwich this effort into an already hectic
lifestyle.
Once
reserved for only the wealthiest clients, the idea of one person
taking on the responsibility of investing another person's money is
something that has begun to proliferate in the last decade.
Competition among investment products and changes in the laws of the
land have made it possible for responsible people to make a living as
Investment Advisors, providing valuable service to those in need.
Modern technology has reduced the expenses once associated with
meticulous record keeping and the flow of necessary information has
increased dramatically.
So, the answer to the question above
is; You should hire an Investment Advisor if you want a greater rate
of return on your nest egg than you can reasonably expect to get with
the knowledge, experience, and discipline you already have.
